Today is the day that we can take our stand and say, “I will become a better person, I will take all that life offers me and use it, along with God’s help (Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me), as the building blocks to develop deeper Christ-like character.
Today – Review and Tweak
My week was extremely stressful. Result, I was reminded that we need to keep our focus on Jesus and ask Him to help us make the wisest choices for each situation. For me this week it meant looking at the stresses in my life and seeing them from a different perspective and deciding how I would make the changes I could, accept the things that I could not change, and not beat myself up over the things I was not sure of. Basically, with Jesus’ help I needed to see this morning as an opportunity for growth, an opportunity to be more like Him in how I handle the different situations that arise in my life.
Prayer
Abba, I pray that today we will set our hearts and our minds to know You more. That we will take every opportunity that You allow to come our way to develop the same mind that was in Christ. That we will be a people of great character. Let today be the first day of our journey into a life of joy, thankfulness, peace, and contentment. Thank You, that You will be with us every step of the way. In Jesus Name amen.
Colossians 3:12-17 – 12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
